Revolut Users Pull $2 Billion in USDT Ahead of Stablecoin Delisting

When a popular fintech app tells its users a stablecoin is going away, they don’t wait around to find out what happens next — they move their money, fast.

Revolut customers pulled roughly $855 million worth of Tether’s USDT off the platform in a single week, and about $2 billion over the past month, according to on-chain and platform activity tracking. The surge in withdrawals comes ahead of Revolut’s planned delisting of USDT, reportedly set to stop being supported by August 31.

The pattern reads as a straightforward rush for the exits: rather than risk being caught holding a token the platform will no longer support, users are proactively moving their USDT elsewhere while they still have full flexibility to do so.

Revolut’s move fits into a broader trend of fintech platforms operating in stricter regulatory environments narrowing which stablecoins they support, often in favor of options that more clearly satisfy specific regional compliance frameworks — Europe’s MiCA framework in particular has pushed several platforms to reconsider which stablecoins they list.

The exodus is happening against a backdrop of broader softness in the stablecoin sector: total stablecoin market capitalization has fallen to around $310 billion, shedding more than $10 billion since its May peak. A single platform’s delisting decision doesn’t explain that entire decline, but it’s a visible, concentrated example of the kind of platform-level shifts that can move meaningful sums quickly.

For Revolut users still holding USDT on the platform, the practical takeaway mirrors any exchange delisting: check the platform’s official announcement for the exact deadline, and move funds to a supported wallet or stablecoin well ahead of time rather than waiting until the final days.
