Franklin Templeton’s EZBC Adds $9.2 Million as Smaller Bitcoin ETFs Gain Ground

Behind the giants like BlackRock and Fidelity, a smaller Bitcoin ETF has been quietly building its own momentum, one respectable inflow day at a time.

Franklin Templeton’s EZBC, a smaller entrant in the crowded spot Bitcoin ETF field, added $9.2 million in net inflows during a recent session as part of the broader August rebound across the ETF category. While modest compared to the hundreds of millions flowing into larger funds like IBIT and FBTC, the inflow represents a meaningful contribution for a fund operating at Franklin Templeton’s current scale in this specific product category.

The spot Bitcoin ETF market has remained heavily concentrated among a handful of the largest issuers since launch, with BlackRock and Fidelity together capturing the overwhelming majority of both total assets and new flows, leaving smaller entrants like Franklin Templeton, Bitwise, and others competing for a comparatively thin remaining slice of institutional demand.

Franklin Templeton has continued building out its broader digital asset product lineup despite EZBC’s relatively modest scale next to category leaders, a strategy that positions the firm to potentially capture a larger share of future inflows if institutional allocators begin diversifying custody and fund relationships across more than just the two or three largest providers.

Competitive fee structures have been one of the primary tools smaller issuers have used to try to differentiate themselves in this crowded field, since brand recognition and existing institutional relationships remain difficult to compete with directly against the largest asset managers.
