Block Inc. Grows Bitcoin Treasury to 9,117 BTC

Jack Dorseys payments company just kept doing what its been doing for years: quietly buying more Bitcoin, no matter what else is happening around it.
Block Inc. grew its Bitcoin treasury to 9,117 BTC after adding 85 BTC on August 6, a purchase that came just weeks after the company joined the S&P 500. The addition puts Block in 15th place on the ranking of corporate Bitcoin holders, continuing a policy the company has maintained for several years of directing 10% of its Bitcoin-product gross profit into further BTC purchases.
Blocks approach stands out for its consistency and its funding mechanism specifically, tying purchases directly to revenue generated from its own Bitcoin-related products like Cash Apps Bitcoin trading feature, rather than raising outside capital or debt purely to build a speculative treasury position the way some other corporate holders have.
Joining the S&P 500 while maintaining an active Bitcoin accumulation policy is itself notable, since it puts Block among a small number of mainstream index-constituent companies with meaningful, publicly disclosed Bitcoin holdings on their balance sheet, a combination that was far rarer just a few years ago.
Corporate Bitcoin treasury strategies have continued expanding well beyond the small group of early adopters that pioneered the approach, with steady, revenue-funded accumulation like Blocks representing one of several distinct models companies have settled on, alongside more aggressive debt-funded strategies pursued by other major corporate holders.
