Bitcoin ETFs Post Third Straight Day Of Inflows, Pushing October Back Into The Green

US spot Bitcoin ETFs posted their third straight day of inflows Wednesday, taking in $137 million and pushing October’s net flow figure back into positive territory at $111 million with two trading sessions left in the month.

A real turnaround from last week

The streak follows a genuinely rough patch: the final two trading days of the prior week saw nearly $774 million in combined outflows, enough to keep October running negative through Tuesday despite earlier gains in the month. Wednesday’s $137 million inflow brought the three-day total to roughly $424 million, a clear enough reversal that it’s worth distinguishing from a single noisy day, three consecutive sessions of net buying is a more meaningful signal than any one day’s figure in isolation.

Ether ETFs are telling a different story

While Bitcoin ETFs turned the corner, Ether ETFs shed another $21 million Wednesday, pushing October’s net Ether ETF outflows to $1.35 billion for the month, a sharp divergence between the two largest crypto ETF categories that’s worth sitting with. Bitcoin and Ether have moved together through plenty of this year’s volatility, but this specific flow divergence suggests institutional allocators are currently treating the two assets as genuinely separate decisions rather than a single combined “crypto” allocation choice.

The macro backdrop behind the bounce

The Federal Reserve held its benchmark rate at a 3.75% to 4% target range Wednesday, with Chair Kevin Warsh noting inflation remained above the Fed’s 2% target even as the committee opted to hold rather than hike. Bitcoin itself traded around $79,848 at the time of the flow data’s publication, down about 1% over the prior 24 hours, while the Crypto Fear & Greed Index held steady at 51, squarely neutral for a second straight day. Bitget analyst Lewis Huang offered a read on what’s actually driving price from here: “Bitcoin’s near-term performance may depend more heavily on Treasury yields, dollar movements and broader risk sentiment,” a framing that puts Wednesday’s ETF inflow in a macro context rather than treating it as a purely crypto-specific signal.

What three days of inflows actually tells you

A three-day inflow streak is meaningful without being conclusive: it’s enough to show demand genuinely returned after last week’s outflow stretch, but not yet enough to confirm a durable trend change, particularly with Ether ETFs moving in the opposite direction over the same window. Whether this extends into a fourth and fifth day, or proves to be a bounce contained within an otherwise choppy October, will say more about where sentiment actually stands than this single data point can on its own.
