Bitcoin Reclaims $65,200, Up 3.7% on the Week Despite CLARITY Act Delay

Bitcoin just did the opposite of what the week’s biggest piece of bad regulatory news might have suggested, and the disconnect itself is the more interesting part of the story.

Bitcoin traded near $65,200 on Monday, August 10, up 3.7% on the week and recovering firmly from an early-August low near $62,000. Ether traded near $1,925, while BNB, Solana, and TRON also posted weekly gains. The rally came despite the Senate failing to pass the CLARITY Act before recess, a deadline covered elsewhere on this site that many expected would weigh on sentiment.

Market strategists have framed the muted reaction to the CLARITY Act delay as a case of the news being largely priced in ahead of time, with traders having spent the preceding days positioning for exactly this outcome rather than treating it as a fresh negative surprise once it actually happened.

This kind of disconnect, a well-telegraphed negative catalyst landing without triggering a matching selloff, is often a more meaningful signal about underlying market positioning than the catalyst itself, since it suggests the marginal seller had largely already sold before the news became official.

Broad-based gains across BNB, Solana, and TRON alongside Bitcoin’s recovery suggest this week’s strength reflects a genuine shift in overall risk appetite rather than a narrow, Bitcoin-specific move driven by one isolated factor.
